There is a fair bit of news to cover for Sharkman in the latest Sharks update!

Firstly there is some exciting Sharks overseas player news. Sharkman is thrilled to announce that Beth Dodd will be playing for the Sharks Women's side this season! Beth is an all-rounder who plays for the Essex County Women's team. Great to have you on board Beth! Our other Englishman, U17's coach & senior player Robert West has arrived and trained with the senior squad last night! Congrats to Rob & former English-Shark Mattie McKiernan whose team recently won the England National T20 knock-out comp!

A number of Sharks have been pushing for higher honors already this season! Good luck to Sean Willis who is playing for the Hobart Hurricanes in the Abu Dhabi T20 tournament this week, while congrats to Ben Dunk who recently signed up for the new T10 league which starts in November. The accolades continue for George Bailey who was recently named as the Prime Ministers XI captain, and of course Bails, along with Simon Milenko, Alex Doolan, Hamish Kingston & Gabe Bell are all away with the Tasmanian JLT Cup squad.

Both the Sharks Senior Men's & Women's squads, as well as the Under 15's, continue to train hard as the Sharks build towards the first game. Round 1 for First Grade is this weekend, however the Sharks have the bye first round, so are gearing up for the first game in just 10 days time from now!

Finally, Martin Rogers is releasing new book "Cricket in the Genes: George Bailey", a Bailey family history which links the Sharks legend to his great-great-grandfather George Herbert Bailey, a member of the first Australian team to tour England in 1878. Please click the link below to find out how to attended a Q&A with Bails next week, as well as purchase the book!…
